South Africa has a raft of new laws. Some of these laws place new responsibilities on individuals. We have placed links to short summaries about a law that may affect your move on this page.

FICA

Fica is the Financial Intelligence Centre Act 38 of 2001. Fica is designed to reduce money laundering.

Firearms

Firearms fall into a special area all of their own. We cannot inform Saps of your address change, but can tell you that you need to fill in another form.

RICA

Rica is the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provisions of Communication related Information Act 70 of 2002 (RICA). Rica is designed to improve the ability of the government to fight crime and terrorism.

PAIA

PAIA is the Promotion of Access to Information Act. The PAIA places certian obligations on organisations to put in place mechanism's to define information that is held and how to access the information.

UIF

UIF is the Unemployment Insurance Fund. If you employ anyone in your home you should have registered them with the UIF.
If you are moving and the employee will stay with you, you need to advise the UIF of a Change of Address, do this on the MoveMe Form.
If you are moving and the employee will no longer be working for you, you need to advise the UIF directly yourself, as MoveMe is not the employer of the employee.
